The world’s smallest woman says she’s ‘strong, independent and confident’ despite her size.
Measuring in at just 62.8cm and weighing 6kg, Jyoti Amge has defied people’s expectations with a star-studded career and huge social media following. Born in Nagpur, India, the 30-year-old was an average-sized child until the age of five – where he growth stunted from a form of dwarfism known as achondroplasia.
In 2009, she was crowned the shortest living female teenager in the world, before going on to scooping a Guinness World Record at 18 for being the shortest living woman (mobile).
Despite being smaller than the average one-year-old baby, Jyoti has big dreams and ambitions.

The actress shot to fame after being cast in the popular TV series American Horror Story, landing the dream role of Ma Petite in the fourth series titled Freak Show. But propelling into the spotlight came with one big downstairs: Jyoti was still being treated as though she was a child.
“When people see me on TV, they become very happy because they don’t have to interact with me,” she said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “When they start interacting with me they ask me questions like I’m a baby or treat me like I’m a baby and hold me like I’m a baby, and that’s what they do wrong, really.”
But Jyoti, who has a whopping 1.9 million followers on Instagram, is thriving. In a recent post that garnered thousands of likes and comments – she declared: “I’m a girl who is strong, independent, and confident, and my smile shows it.’
Popular Tiktok account Story Wanderer recently profile the celeb, hailing for having a ‘positive and optimistic attitude’. “Jyoti uses her platform to show the world that her size doesn’t limit her pursuit of happiness and dreams,” the video states.
Hundreds of inspire viewers flocked to the comments section to share their thoughts – with many branding the star as ‘beautiful’. “She is so awesome,” one person raved. “I really love her for who she is.”
Another agreed, commenting: “She is so adorable.” A third added: “I wish her all the best,” while a fourth wrote: “She has the biggest heart in the world.”
