Senior political figures across party lines and allied groups have expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, will secure decisive victories in the 2027 general elections, citing what they describe as visible development projects and improved governance..
These views were shared during a strategic meeting organised recently by the Integrity Group of Nigeria in Asaba, the capital of Delta State. The meeting brought together politicians, academics, traditional leaders and parties supporters to review progress so far and to strengthen support for a second term for both leaders under what is known as the “Tinubu and Sheriff 4+4” agenda.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman and Convener of the Integrity Group, Dr Oke Idawene, said the meeting was an important step in preparing for the 2027 elections. He described the coming election year as a critical moment that requires early planning, unity and effective mobilisation of supporters across the state.
“This is the time to sit down, review our progress and plan carefully for 2027,” Idawene said. “Our task is to ensure victory for President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori. The Integrity Group stands firmly behind the Renewed Hope and MORE Agenda.”
Idawene said both leaders have shown what he called strong and people-centred leadership at the national and state levels. According to him, their record in office justifies the group’s open endorsement. He added that members of the Integrity Group are already engaging communities across Delta State to encourage voter participation and support for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
A key moment at the meeting was a presentation by Professor U.N.O. Edewor, Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Delta State University. In a paper titled “2027: There Is No Vacancy in Asaba Government House and Aso Rock,” he argued that the performance of both administrations has earned them another term in office.
Edewor described the leadership style of Tinubu and Oborevwori as grassroots-oriented and focused on long-term development. He said their policies aim to rebuild the country’s economy and restore public confidence after years of economic difficulty and political challenges.
“The APC at both national and state levels is working to reposition Nigeria,” he said. “The Renewed Hope and MORE Agenda is clear in its goals and is supported by visible projects and investment in people, especially young people and women.”
Several other speakers expressed similar views. Felix Ofou said the Integrity Group has built a strong reputation as a support base for Governor Oborevwori’s administration.
He said the group’s visibility and consistency have helped spread the government’s message across the state.
Ofou urged members to increase efforts in registering new party members and voters, noting that political strength depends on active participation. He added that a strong showing in 2027 would improve Delta State’s influence at the national level.
Dr Reginald Bayoko, a former Head of Service and Secretary of the College of Patrons of the Integrity Group, focused on the importance of integrity and accountability in public life. He praised Idawene for his dedication and leadership, and encouraged members to lead by example by ensuring they are properly registered to vote.
In a goodwill message, Dame Princess Minnie Igbrude thanked members for their commitment and praised the growth of the Integrity Group. She described the organisation as an important pillar of the MORE Agenda and said Governor Oborevwori’s performance in office had reduced serious political opposition ahead of the 2027 elections.
Igbrude also called on members to reach out to opposition figures and persuade them to support the current administration. Speaking in her role as Coordinator of the Tinubu Touchbearers in Delta State, she said President Tinubu was laying the foundation for long-term national development and urged citizens to remain patient despite current economic pressures.
Additional messages of support came from Barrister Fred Majemite and Hon Ferguson Onwo, who praised the Integrity Group for its steady presence and political mobilisation.
Prince Tony Okobi, Director General of the Okowa Mandate, announced that his organisation had formally merged with the Integrity Group. He said the decision was based on Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to development and peace, noting that there were already few signs of serious challengers for the governorship less than a year into the election cycle.
Similarly, His Royal Majesty, Simon Wajutome Odhomo Igbogidi I, the Odio-Ologbo of Irri Kingdom, has praised the Integrity Group for its role in political advocacy. He commended the Delta State government for visible development and the relative peace across the state.
The monarch said traditional rulers were ready to support the current administration and urged residents to remain law-abiding and supportive of both the state and federal governments in the interest of stability and continued development.
