Prince Harry won’t return to royal duties until Prince William apologizes

Prince Harry has reportedly stated that he will not consider resuming any royal duties unless he receives an apology from his brother, Prince William. However, the Duke of Sussex has indicated he would be open to “helping out” the Royal Family on a part-time basis if requested by King Charles III.

Sources close to Prince Harry suggest that while he remains content with his decision to step back from royal responsibilities, he would contemplate a temporary role within the monarchy if his father, King Charles, makes such a request. The condition for this potential return is an apology from Prince William, reflecting the ongoing tension between the two brothers.

This development follows speculation that Harry may miss aspects of his previous royal life and is contemplating re-engaging with royal duties. Despite reports of strained relations, insiders have revealed that Harry, who will turn 40 this month, is thriving in his new life in the United States with a supportive circle of friends and several promising projects.

In his memoir Spare, Prince Harry made several significant allegations against key members of the Royal Family. The Duke of Sussex accused his brother, Prince William, of physically assaulting him during a dispute over Meghan Markle. He also claimed that Prince William and their father, King Charles III, confronted him aggressively following Prince Philip’s funeral, ostensibly seeking conflict.

Additionally, Harry alleged that William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, had urged him to wear an infamous Nazi uniform to a costume party, a choice that attracted widespread criticism. In his book, he portrayed William as his “arch-nemesis” and Queen Consort Camilla as a “wicked stepmother,” while depicting King Charles as an emotionally distant and ineffective figure.

The revelations in Spare have further strained relations within the Royal Family, contributing to the ongoing tension between Harry and his relatives.

Prince Harry recently visited the UK for the funeral of his uncle, Lord Robert Fellowes. During the visit, he stayed at Althorp, the childhood home of Princess Diana. Despite the occasion, Harry and Prince William reportedly maintained their distance, attending the service at St Mary’s Church in Snettisham but not interacting publicly.

Looking ahead, Harry is preparing for a trip to New York for engagements related to his charities, including the Halo Trust and the Diana Award. Recent reports also indicate a strategic shift in his public relations approach, following the departure of several PR advisers, including Christine Weil Schirmer and Josh Kettler.

As Harry reassesses his public role and strategy, there is speculation that he may seek to re-engage with UK royal circles in a low-profile capacity, potentially focusing on modest royal duties to rebuild his public image.

Despite ongoing efforts to reconcile with his family, the path to repairing relations with Prince William remains challenging.
