Unlike most institutions, Nwashindi Memorial School of Health Technology, Delta State – Nigeria was not born out of a desire to make name and acquire material wealth, but to fulfill an innate desire to develop youths and empower them for the challenges of a changing world; and for the growing need for manpower development in the public health profession.

In an ever-changing, increasingly complex world, millions of Nigeria’s universities admission applicants are turned-down by universities of their choices and worse still many are denied their course of studies. To help salvage the situation, a renowned Delta-born medical expert, Dr Arthur-Lans Nwashindi, established the Nwashindi Memorial School of Health Technology, Obinomba, Umukwata, Delta State to help cater for the academic needs of African teeming youth.

Dr. Arthur-Lans Nwashindi

He said the school is founded to “to create, preserve and communicate knowledge in health science, technology, behaboural and management sciences. To empower students to fulfill their academic and professional passions in an institution that is diverse, welcoming and inclusive for all students and staff.”

The School of Health Technology may be the proudest achievement of the modern Niger-Delta. It was founded in a spirit of optimism – at a time of great uncertainty, coming shortly after the Covid19 pandemic.

Dr. Nwashindi remains unwavering in his commitment to universal high health quality care for all. ‘My values haven’t changed, our children need to adapt to take advantage of the opportunities offered by Nwashindi Memorial School of Health Technology”, he said.

Dr Nwashingi noted that many of the School’s programs are available on full-time partially online.

“So far, we are consistently pursuing excellence and effectiveness in teaching with a view to producing knowledgeable and skilled Nigeria youths equipped to make positive contributions towards the resolution of societal ills,” he opined.
