“I Worked for Demons” — Repentant Drug Addict Tonto Dikeh Confesses

Nollywood star Tonto Dikeh has stunned worshippers with a jaw-dropping, emotional testimony — opening up not only about her alleged past in the occult but also the personal chaos, failed marriage, and controversies that once defined her life.

Speaking at the Women of Fire Prayer Conference 2026, the 40-year-old actress delivered what many described as one of her most raw and revealing public appearances yet.

With tears, intensity, and bold declarations, Dikeh claimed she once lived in deep spiritual darkness.

“I have joined cults… operated and worked for demons so hard,” she told a stunned audience. “But God dragged me out of hell.”

Her words sent shockwaves through the congregation — but for followers of the controversial actress, the revelation is only the latest chapter in a life long marked by drama, public battles, and headline-making scandals.

Before her spiritual rebirth, Dikeh was no stranger to controversy. She first sparked outrage early in her career with her role in the Nollywood film Dirty Secret, which drew backlash over explicit scenes that critics at the time labelled provocative and culturally controversial. Her bold persona, outspoken nature, and unconventional image kept her in the headlines, often blurring the line between celebrity and scandal.

Over time, her personal life began to overshadow her film career, particularly her high-profile relationship with businessman Olakunle Churchill. The pair married in 2015 in what was initially seen as a glamorous union, but the relationship quickly unravelled.

By 2017, the marriage had collapsed in dramatic fashion. What followed was a bitter and very public fallout that played out across social media and in interviews, capturing national attention. Dikeh accused Churchill of infidelity and domestic abuse, while he denied the allegations and countered with claims of his own. The dispute spiralled into legal threats, petitions, and a prolonged war of words that left both reputations bruised.

At the height of the feud, Dikeh described the marriage as deeply troubled and later insisted that walking away was the best decision she ever made. Despite years of hostility, there have been recent indications that both parties are working toward a more peaceful co-parenting arrangement for the sake of their child, suggesting a possible thaw after years of tension.

Her romantic struggles did not end there. In 2021, she entered another highly publicised relationship with politician Prince Joseph Kpokpogri, which also ended in controversy. The breakup triggered a media storm involving leaked voice recordings, accusations of cheating, and claims that quickly escalated into a wider scandal. Once again, Dikeh found herself at the centre of intense public scrutiny.

Yet standing before the Tanzania congregation, the actress insisted that those turbulent years are now firmly behind her. Her testimony focused on transformation — a journey she described as moving from addiction, anger, and darkness into faith and spiritual renewal.

“From a drug addict to an altar that praises God,” she declared. “From a devil worshipper to a woman who will pray with fire.”

She spoke candidly about what she described as a past filled with “filthy things” and poor choices, saying she struggled to navigate a “wicked world” that consumed her for years. According to her, it was only through divine intervention that she was able to break free.

“If you have ever doubted the grace of God, look at me,” she told the audience. “There are some people that God goes into hell and drags them out. He does not care about what you have been through or what you have done.”

Dikeh’s message was clear — that her life should serve as proof of redemption and hope. She emphasised that no one is beyond saving, regardless of how dark their past may be.

In recent years, she has increasingly embraced a faith-driven lifestyle, frequently sharing testimonies and participating in ministry activities. She has also taken on a more active spiritual role, including conducting deliverance sessions and mentoring others on their faith journeys.

Her evolving public image has drawn mixed reactions. Supporters view her as a powerful example of transformation and resilience, while critics question the dramatic nature of her claims and point to her long history of public controversies.

Still, whether praised or criticised, Dikeh continues to command attention. Her ability to captivate audiences — whether through film, social media, or deeply personal confessions — remains undeniable.

With this latest revelation, she has once again placed herself firmly in the spotlight, not as an actress playing a role, but as a woman telling what she insists is her truth — a story shaped by fame, failure, faith, and what she describes as a remarkable journey out of darkness.

“I know who I was,” she said. “And I know who I am now.”
