Some are dehumanized by parents due to the shame of having a child with intellectual/cognitive disability, while some suffer from the menace of cultural beliefs, superstitions and myths as they are being called witches, imbeciles, fools etc.

Many a times, number of them have been murdered by their own parents, to avoid the embarrassment or shame of having such children in their homes.

According to the World Health Organization, one in 160 children live with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) worldwide.

The man of God has gone out of his way to engage medical consultant and physiotherapists for their continual examination and treatment.

It is also on record that some autistic and down’s syndrome pupils in OPM free school have recovered and taken to the normal school.

Ihie 1 of Ikwuorie Autonomous community has spent huge amount of resources to put the structures in place and equiped the school to meet international standard. He employed qualified and experienced teachers who are doing their best to put the students at the right part.

He is adored for his selfless dedication to the welfare of the vulnerable children and those in dire need.

The incredible compassion, steadfast understanding and persistent determination that pushed him to icon status in the fight against poverty has is a legacy that continues to inspire people of all ages.
