Prayer is the weapon God gives us to overcome our propensity to victory. For Hon Nnamdi Ezechi, the winner of the just concluded Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party for the 2023 election, he is a praying politician. In what appeared to be invocation of heavenly victory during the primaries, while other aspirants were armed with their phones making calls to their political godfathers, sponsors and delegates, he isolated himself from the crowded in the venue and turned his attention, first and foremost to God in groaning prayers.

The venue of the Peoples Democratic Party primaries for Ndokwa West was at Otagba-Ono Primary School field.

As other aspirants, Ezechi arrived the venue early enough, seated in his black jeep, he was sited praying fervently. When the accreditation begun, he was still in prayers, when voting commenced, he was seated in a corner groaning in prayers. But the tempo of his prayers increased when counting started. It was at the deep point of his prayers that he was declared the winner with wider margin. Immediately he was rushed and lifted up by the excited supporters and delegates even long before signing the result sheets.

He was declared winner and candidate of the PDP for Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal House of Representative, defeating the incumbent, Hon Ossai N Ossai who is seeking reelection for the third team.

He noted that his victory was a victory from God, and gave all the glory and honor to God who he said is the architect of his good success all through the journey to House of Representative primary election.

He urged all other contestants to see his victory as a victory of all and not just him and also extended a warm hand of fellowship to them to support him till the general election, noting that it is better they all build together and he will also appreciate their advice and support towards moving Ndokwa Nation forward.

In his words; “I am most grateful to God for my victory today and I want to sincerely appreciate the good Leaders, Delegates and People of Ndokwa Nations for the love and support shown to me today, I want to also state clearly that there is no Victor no Vanquish, we all won and it’s a victory for the entire Ndokwa Nation and I want to also use this medium to inform all my brothers who contested with me that I’m extending my hands of fellowship with them and I’m very much open to their good advice to move Ndokwa Nation forward”.
