Enugu APC Chairman Ugochukwu Agballah Fired, Expelled Over Gross Misconduct

Abuja, NIGERIA — The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State has officially expelled Ugochukwu Agballah, the suspended state chairman, along with other self-proclaimed executive members for what the party described as gross misconduct.

The expulsion was confirmed in a statement issued by Hon. Alphonsus Onyeachonam Nwafor, the acting state chairman, and High Chief Charles-Solo Akor, the state publicity secretary. The statement, which followed a state executive meeting, named several individuals, including Agballah, Augustine Alumona, Jude Chinedu Aniogbo, Moses Emeka Eze, Sunday Ugwoke, Ugwu Christian Kanayo, Eze Chidiebere Johnson, Queen Charles, and Onyekachi T. Ezeagu, as those expelled.

The statement pointed out that Agballah and his colleagues had repeatedly defied court orders, which prohibited them from presenting themselves as the legitimate executive of the APC Enugu State Chapter. The statement emphasized that they had violated the orders of the High Court, which had restrained them from organizing meetings or performing functions as the State Executive Committee (SEC) of the party.

Furthermore, the APC leadership accused Agballah and the others of engaging in activities that contravened the party’s constitution, principles, and values. Allegations of intimidating and arresting party members loyal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu were also leveled against them.

“This decision reflects our firm stance on accountability and ethical governance,” the statement asserted. “The integrity of our Party is non-negotiable. We will not tolerate individuals who undermine our mission and values within our ranks.”

The APC Enugu State Chapter reassured its members and stakeholders of its dedication to restructuring the party and upholding its core values and constitution.

Attempts to reach Agballah for a comment were unsuccessful, as he neither answered calls nor responded to a text message seeking his response at the time of writing.
