The Director General of the Delta State Taskforce and Monitoring of the Commercial Motorcycle and Tricycle Operators Association (COMTOA), Chief (Ambr) Uchenna Okafor has extended warm and heartfelt felicitations to the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on the occasion of his 62nd birth anniversary, praising his unwavering commitment to inclusive leadership and grassroots empowerment.

In a statement released in Asaba on Wednesday, the Director General described Governor Oborevwori as “a people-centred statesman with a deep understanding of the needs of ordinary Deltans,” whose leadership has remained steadfast in promoting social cohesion, security, and infrastructural development across the state.

“On behalf of the leadership and members of the Delta State Taskforce and Monitoring Unit of the Commercial Motorcycle and Tricycle Operators Association (COMTOA), I extend my warmest congratulations to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, on the joyful occasion of his 62nd birthday,” the DG said.

“This celebration is not merely a personal milestone but a moment of collective thanksgiving by the people of Delta State for the gift of a compassionate, accessible, and visionary leader whose ‘MORE’ Agenda is actively shaping lives from the top tier of government to the grassroots of our society.”

Chief Okafor who is a recipient of Universal Peace Federation Ambassador Award, highlighted Governor Oborevwori’s contribution to strengthening the state’s transportation sector, noting his administration’s receptiveness to the plight of informal transport operators and its resolve to bring dignity, order, and regulation to motorcycle and tricycle operations across Delta.

“The Governor’s approach to transport sector reform has shown great sensitivity to both safety and livelihoods. By supporting structured monitoring of operators and encouraging legal recognition for informal transport workers, he has given voice and value to thousands who make up this essential economic sector,” the statement read.

He commended the Governor’s accessibility and his track record of supporting inclusive governance, citing his consistent engagement with communities and unions, including COMTOA, as a mark of progressive leadership.

“Governor Oborevwori continues to set a leadership example rooted in equity, humility, and justice. He listens. He consults. And he acts decisively in the public interest. His birthday is a fitting time to celebrate not just a man, but the ideals he upholds in public service.”

Concluding his message, the DG offered prayers for long life, renewed strength, and divine guidance as Governor Oborevwori steers the affairs of Delta State.

“We pray the Almighty continues to endow you with wisdom, good health, and the energy to advance Delta State into an era of sustainable growth, peace, and prosperity. Happy 62nd birthday, Your Excellency.”

Governor Oborevwori, a former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and the current Chief Executive of the state since 2023, is widely regarded for his grassroots connection and legislative experience, qualities that continue to define his governance style.
