Abuja, NIGERIA – Delta North Political Survey Group championing the infrastructural and economic empowerment of Anioma Nation has taken a swipe on Senator Ned Nwoko over his failure to attract tangible constituency projects to Delta North in the last 18 months in the Senate.

In a press statement made available to Journalists in Abuja at the weekend , the group derided Senator Nwoko for not fulfilling his electoral campaign promises to the people saying that he had not only breached the social contract between him and his constituents
but his also fallen short of effective representation in the National Assembly .

The group challenged senator Nwoko to present his score card based on verifiable facts on either completed or on going constituency projects initiated or inherited from his predecessors in the Senate insisting that beyond on – line reports on self acclaimed achievements and project proposals, there were nothing practically on ground to show for his eighteen months in the National Assembly .

The statement signed by the National President of the group, Professor Michael Okoh and Secretary – General, Dr Benard Omenogor frowned at what they called “excessive media hype based on self acclaimed performance which only existed on social media platforms and imaginative realm of supporters of the law maker.

The Delta North Survey Group contended that it was a political miscalculation for the Senator to want to compel Delta State Government to fund the Okpai Electricity Step down and the Completion of the Ogwashi – Uku dam project adding that as a Federal lawmaker, Ned Nwoko ought to have presented the projects as his constituency projects and push for their execution in fulfillment of his campaign promises to the people of Delta North.

Delta North Survey Group Rejects Senator Nwoko’s Response as Empty and Irrelevant

The group averred that Senator Nwoko had done nothing to justify his election even as it carpeted the senator’s social media handlers who they insisted lack basic professional training and etiquette of journalism and as such , were de – marketing the activities of the Senator rather than promoting and projecting same to the world.

They posited that whether Senator Nwoko dumps the PDP for the APC or not, he would certainly be interrogated about his performance in the Senate come 2027 saying that there would be no hiding place for any politician who failed to deliver as they would be voted out in 2027.

They also condemned in very strong terms the insensitivity of the lawmaker to the economic empowerment of the people as opposed to the presentation of hand outs in the name of empowerment saying that the Senator should “stop giving fish to the people and instead teach them how to catch fish”.

On the political patronage of indigenes of Delta North , the group expressed concern that only 5 out of 20 indigenes of the district were engaged in the Abuja office of the Senator while the rest, majorly women were from other parts of the country.

The Delta North Survey Group also expressed disgust that the Political power house and those who stood by him and fought for his electoral victory were left in limbo soon after the election without a thank you from the Senator.

They affirmed that judgement day was around the corner when every elected and appointed politician would give account of their performance in office assuring that the political savvy and consciousness of the people had reached unimaginable crescendo.
