Leaked memo shows terrorist planning attack on Lagos, FCT, others

A leaked memo from the office of Deputy Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) D.D Mungadi, has revealed that terrorist group are planning coordinated attacks on Lagos, Abuja and other major cities in the country.

The memo titled “Heightened plots by terrorists to stage coordinated attacks in parts of the country,” and sent to all commands said there is credible intelligence that Boko-Haram and the ISWAP Terrorists groups have mobilized fighters and high caliber weapons particularly rocket propelled Grenade (RPG) launchers, Anti-Aircraft guns and General Purpose Machine guns which they intended to deploy for the offensive.

“In another development, two separate bandits groups are plotting coordinated attacks on North-West, North Central and Southwest. (Katsina, Zamfara, Kaduna, Kogi, FCT and Lagos).

“Consequently the Commandant General has directed you to scale up deployment in all strategic places including: Schools, Worship Centres and critical national assets in your respective states to checkmate any possible threats by these criminal elements.

Recall that barely 24 hours after terrorists threatened to abduct President Muhammadu Buhari and Kaduna Governor Nasir el-Rufai in a viral video, troops of the Guards Brigade were ambushed by armed bandits in Abuja.Three soldiers were wounded during the attack, which has thrown residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) into a panic.

There were Intelligence reports, according to military sources, the terrorists have laid siege to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) with the intention to attack the Law School in Bwari and other government facilities.

Military sources that pleaded anonymity said the attack was a confirmation of the terrorists’ siege to the city but authorities said they were on the trail of the assailants.
